Corrales Holiday Art Fest

Looking Over the Fence

"Looking over the Fence" Polished steel with heat-altered colors.

One upon a time a guy decided to turn his hobby into a little business. The guy made artistic things out of metal. Well, his wife, being a dutiful and obedient woman (Yeah, right), would accompany him to shows at Art in the Park, and watch over the booth. And when people asked her, “Is this your art?” she’d politely demure and say, “No, it’s my husband’s.”

What a load of bullshit. Actually, after about the second time someone asked me that question, I thought, “Screw this, I’m makin’ some artz.”

Metal is a fun media. It’s so forgiving, it’s like it has an “undo” button. If something doesn’t work out, heat it, beat it, and start over. I get to work with fire and I hardly ever set myself on fire.

Out for a Walk

"Out for a Walk" Who doesn't love a penguin?

Will you be in the Albuquerque, New Mexico area this Thanksgiving weekend?  Then come on out to the Corrales Holiday Art Fest. Admission is free–FREE!–and you can escape the lunacy of Black Friday in a big heated tent, enjoying art from 40 artists including yours truly. I’ll also have copies of The Music of Chaos on hand. (The perfect gift for that fantasy fan on your shopping list!) Best of all you’ll be supporting small business.

Look for the big tent by the Corrales Recreation Center. You can’t miss it.

Corrales Holiday Art Fest, November 25-27, 10 – 5. See you there!
