When a world ends with a movie...creatively, I adore fanfic. The Ladyhawke fanfic was wonderful. I used to buy the mimeographed, stapled together booklets. And Sherlock Holmes Fanfic, was a delight! A mix of Dr. Who and Sherlock...what a lark!

But I haven't read any for decades!

Hee. True. It's just that ever time I run into this scripture, I want to start singing, "Jesus Christ. Donkey thief" to the tune of Jesus Christ Superstar.

They're both very cute!

And I think donkey thieving was the least of Jesus's playing fast and loose with the law, if I remember right. But notable nonetheless. *LOL*

Cool. I'll check it out. When it comes to horses, it's a matter of knowing waayy too much; I've stopped reading novels because of horsey inaccuracies. It would be lovely if more writers did a bit of research rather than going off of what they think they've learned from the movies.

Ooo. That sounds really promising. Thanks. I'll add that to my huge to be read pile! I'm really not a fan of the manly man archetype, so despite it's strengths, The Iron Duke didn't make it to "keeper" because of Rhys.

Judith Tarr released a collection of her horse blog entries last year (she of the ownership of 9 Lipizzans in Arizona) especially for writers who want to have believable horses: Writing Horses at Book View Cafe.

You might like the Here There Be Monsters novella, which started the series better, because the hero is not as uber-alpha and the heroine is even more competent in her chosen field than Mina - she has to figure out a way to eventually even be able together with the hero because his carefully curated outside persona can't be seen being lovey-dovey. It's just a gem of a novella ^^.
